New Blog stuff today

Okay, this is actually hard and kind of fun at the same time. What did I do?

I finished my post on Bee.

I had wanted to sign up for Twitter and finally did. Not exactly sure what to do with it but I think that will resolve itself over time. A couple of items on Twitter:

  1. It’s a way of sending SMS messages to a personalized Twitter page (e.g. here is mine) which other people can then presumably subscribe to. I don’t know if I know anyone personally using Twitter - If you are, let me know and maybe we can Twitter each other or something. My knowledge of Twitter comes from places like Robert Scoble and Techcrunch and I am going to defer to them on the value of Twittering.
  2. I got Twitter to update my Facebook status. Kind of good considering I otherwise never bothered to update it.
  3. I got a nifty plugin from Alex King called Twitter Tools which published my Twitters in my sidebar on the left. The Share This plugin at the bottom of every post is his work as well. The guy’s a genius. I even donated some money for the plugins and I almost never do that sort of thing but frankly, he made this blog better and that seems worth it.

Oh, and I figured out how to embed a YouTube Video into Wordpress. What a nightmare. At first embedding a YouTube video was totally screwing with the blog’s formatting. Crazy stuff was happening. So I did some searching on the web and apparently this is a common newby issue. I found a number of good posts on the subject but this one was the best.

Anyhow, that’s it for today/tonight. I’m zonked but I would like to leave you with this gem of a post from Fake Steve Jobs. If you don’t read Fake Steve you are missing out. You can thank me later for telling you about his blog.
